Gabriela Tannertová

Gabriela Tannertová (born Jílková), Czech cimbalom player, started her cimbalom studies under Růžena Děcká and graduated from the Janáček Conservatory and Grammar School in Ostrava, where she specialized in the classical cimbalom with Daniel Skála. She finished her studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest under Ilona Szeverényi and András Szalai. Currently she is working on her Master’s degree in Musicology studies at the Palacký University in Olomouc.

During years of active playing, Gabriela has attained significant achievements not only in the local music scene but also abroad (Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Netherlands, Portugal and France). 

She is a multiple winner of the competition at The International Cimbalom Festival in Valašské Meziříčí in solo and chamber categories.

Gabriela also collaborated with singers, choirs and music ensembles (e.g. Puppet Theatre in Ostrava, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Doelen Ensemble in Rotterdam, the orchestra of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest). Together with her former teacher, Daniel Skála, she performs in cimbalom duets. She also organizes concerts and projects with several other musicians, not only from the Czech Republic, but also from other countries – with Tamás Bácsi, pianist from Hungary or Auður Edda Erlendsdóttir, clarinetist from Iceland.
